CVM IRON MEN DAYS – March 2017

Image result for CVM IRON MEN

The CVM Iron Men Tour starts in just under two weeks. As we do not have a London venue on the map just yet, you may like to attend at one of the four venues already confirmed.

The Iron Men days will help you and the guys in your church build each other up and sharpen their focus for the task we’ve all been given of winning men to Jesus. PLUS…

…it will be a little taste of The Gathering with fun, banter, worship, testimony as well as great talks.

The day will feature the launch of our brand new CVM book of the same name as the event. Both will focus on Christian men working to see their fellow believing mates around them become men of strength, honour, focus and fight, but also men who surrender to a greater cause and a greater King. And what’s more they are only half-days so you’ll be finished by 1pm!

The brand new Iron Men book (RRP £8) will be available for a special ‘event offer price’ of just £3* for all attendees.

Warm up your dart throwing arm, join us for a morning (9:15am-1pm) and enjoy a bacon roll, pastries, tea/coffee, Bible teaching, worship and a powerful life story plus the usual fun with the CVM team!

Let’s see a culture-shifting amount of men give their lives to Jesus, our captain and brother, rescuer and friend!

The theme for 2017 will be Echoes in Eternity II and Eric will uncover four roles that will help us mature and go deeper in our Christian walk:

Soldier – committed and loyal
Athlete – disciplined and honourable
Farmer – out in all weathers
Father – tough and tender

Speaker
Eric became a full-time evangelist in 1972 leading many missions resulting in thousands of conversions. He then went into ordained ministry in 1988. While he has now retired he still has incredible energy and drive to see men overcome fear and become the person God called each of us to be. Last time he had a prophetic word for everyone who attended the Sunday sessions.

Around 90 people attended the last conference. So this year we have booked the whole site allowing for over 100 residential places with space for 120 all told.

Venue
Venue is YHA London Lee Valley, Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, EN8 9AJ. This is high quality, modern log cabin accommodation set in Lee valley Regional Park with well-tended grounds, lots of space outside and local pubs and shops nearby.

The investment is £95 residential which includes 6 hot meals. The day delegate price is £60 for all three days including 4 hot meals. If you can only make one day then we recommend Saturday which will be £40 including 2 hot meals. However, we are encouraging men to invest into the whole weekend as we feel God uses the time we spend together to build relationships and provide informal ministry opportunities.

It gives us great pleasure to announce details and invite you to our Men’s Weekend Away in January 2015.
Have you noticed the marketing for the busy Christmas period has already started? Once the frenzy is over, January is the ideal time to be intentional about coming aside, with a band of brothers, to invest some time at the start of the year to refocus our thoughts, our lives, our plans and our prayers and submitting these to God. A time to be thankful for what we have enjoyed and a time to be hopeful and expectant for the year ahead. How is God going to challenge you in 2015?

These weekends see men come together from over a dozen different churches and denominations. It is great to see new friendships develop and hear the experiences of what different groups are doing within their churches.

Venue
We are returning to The Frontier Centre in Northamptonshire where we are excellently catered for with 3 hot meals a day, bed & bedding, heated rooms, sport and conference facilities, on site Staff and Instructors and our own private and secured area of accommodation. Plenty of fresh air with some amazing sunrises and sunsets!

Programme
We will have a balanced time between worship, teaching, leadership training and group activities, quiet time, prayer and fellowship. For those of you who like activity, bring your mountain bikes, running gear, walking boots, football boots/trainers to make the most of the on-site facilities. If you just want to chill out and enjoy the surroundings, have quiet time to pray or read your bible, bring walking boots, coat, camera, a good book, newspaper and some DVD’s. We also look to enjoy a beer or two of an evening at a local pub, or on-site whilst maybe watching a film.

Men’s Praise & Worship Event Follow Up

2014-10-16 20.33.38

60 MEN FROM OVER 15 CHURCHES
IN PRAISE & WORSHIP
CHALLENGED WITH GOD’S WORD
INSPIRED BY MISSION CAUSES
GRASSROOTS AND NEW GROWTH MINISTRIES

On Thursday 16 October 2014, 60 men from over 15 churches met at St Johns Church, Buckhurst Hill to fellowship together in praise & worship, be challenged by God’s word and hear about mission causes that are changing the world.

Some great songs of proclamation were led by musicians from St Johns, Buckhurst Hill, All Saints Woodford Wells, East End Church, Hackney and Chase Cross Baptist, Chadwell Heath.

Rev Ian Farley gave a thought provoking and challenging talk on ‘WHO Am I? – the poem written by great Christian Martyr Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and man’s identity, with Revelation 18:1 as the core context referring to Numbers 13, Psalm 8, 2 Corinthian 5 and Hebrews 2.

We also heard feedback from John Viggers on the group of men that went to Romania with the Grassroots Trust in September and whom as 2 teams, built 2 houses within a week. We also had a presentation from Matthew Burton on New Growth Ministries and the work of Rob & Hillary McKenzie MBE’s over in Zimbabwe.

Please make a note to come to THE NEXT MEN’S PRAISE & WORSHIP EVENT WHICH WILL BE ON TUESDAY 10 FEBRUARY 2015 AT ST MARY’S CHURCH, LOUGHTON, Essex

Men’s Breakfast – Saturday 8 November 2014 @8.30am – Toby Carvery, Buckhurst Hill

MEN’S BREAKFAST- SATURDAY 8 NOVEMBER
TIME: 8.30am
Full-English-Breakfast

One of the secrets to success to Men’s Ministry is……………saturated fats! And what better way to start a chilly Saturday morning than over a Full English fry up!

On Saturday 8 November, you are invited to the breakfast communion table to break ‘fried’ bread and drink of the caffeine in fellowship with your extended Band of Brothers from across the local area. There is no agenda for this breakfast and no guest speaker. It is purely a chance to fellowship with one another, catch up and share life.

However,….   We want to challenge you to bring a friend, a family member, a neighbour, a work colleague or a man on the fringe. It could be someone who needs a bit of encouragement. Someone who has recently fallen on hard times, has lost a family member, has suffered some ill health, has been made redundant or feeling a bit low.

Why……? So he can be encouraged in the company of Christian blokes and party to conversation. Suicide is the biggest killer of men below the age of 50  in the UK today and there is is an epidemic of loneliness amongst men.

Who could you bless by inviting to join you and a bunch of your mates, and buying them a breakfast?
And we can prepare in advance in prayer, trusting God for the conversation around the table and how he may use it to start bringing that bloke you invite closer to knowing Jesus.
How about it?

WHERE: The Toby Carvery in Buckhurst Hill.
DATE: Saturday 8 November 2014
TIME: 8.30am to 10am

BREAKFAST: £6ph, ALL YOU CAN EAT Full English Breakfast plus UNLIMITED tea and coffee (**Fruit juice is extra**)

About: THE GRACECARD
When Mac McDonald loses his son in an accident, the ensuing 17 years of bitterness and pain erodes his love for his family and leaves him angry with God … and just about everyone else.
Mac’s rage stonewalls his career in the police department and makes for a combustible situation when he’s partnered with Sam Wright, a rising star on the force who happens to be a part-time pastor and a loving family man.
Mac’s home life is as frightening as anything he encounters on the streets of Memphis. Money is tight and emotions run high as he constantly argues with his wife and his surviving son Blake, who is hanging with the wrong crowd and in danger of flunking out of school.
Sam Wright also never expected to be a police officer. He has a calling—to be a minister like his Grandpa George. But leading a small, start-up church doesn’t always put enough food on the table for a young family, so Sam doubles as a police officer. With his new promotion to Sergeant, Sam starts questioning if his real calling might actually be police work rather than the pastorate.
Can Mac and Sam somehow join forces to help one another when it’s impossible for either of them to look past their differences—especially the most obvious one?

Every day, we have the opportunity to rebuild relationships and heal deep wounds by extending and receiving God’s grace. Offer THE GRACE CARD … and never underestimate the power of God’s love
